The UT-50 was used in quite a range of Icom radios including the IC-2SAT, IC-3SAT, IC-24AT, IC-229, IC-820 and others. If you missed out on the tone encoder / decoder when you bought your Icom Transceiver now it is possible to get those features! The PIEXX UT-50PX is an exact functional and physical replacement for the original UT-50. Installation is simple, remove your battery, remove the 5 screws holding the case halves together and seperate the case, install the UT-50PX in the space between the internal battery and the transceiver electronics. Finish the installation be replacing the covers, and you can start working those PL repeaters.
